SYCAC was established in Turkey in 2012 as a non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization. SYCAC means railways or roads in Arabic. The notion refers to bridging and paving the roads to connect the Syrian communities through innovative approaches on Empowerment, Governance, Peacebuilding, and Political empowerment via action-oriented interventions, mediations, and learning by informing and influencing strategies and policies and practices.

Scope of Work

SYCAC is searching for Grants and Communication Coordinator to work with our organization in enhancing funding models, identifying new sources of funding, and developing sustainable and effective grants programs. He/She is responsible for overseeing the communications efforts of a corporation, including public relations and marketing. The duties include completing donors mapping, communicating with media personnel to address news and implementing communication policies and procedures to uphold SYCAC’s image. He/She is also responsible for developing proposals, optimizing the grant administration process, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and reviewing grant proposals.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designing grant programs.

  • Developing and writing grants proposals.
  • Identifying support agencies.
  • Optimizing grant administration process.
  • Managing timelines and deliverables.
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Tracking grant application.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that SYCAC is well represented and visible in the donor community, among key partners, and within coordination fora, delegating as appropriate to program staff.
  • Represent SYCAC in meetings, working groups and other coordination bodies.
  • Review narrative components of all grant activity templates for donor approval to ensure proper completion of all sections and that activity descriptions align with programme logical framework and/or theories of change.
  • Implement coordination mechanisms with other programmatic units to facilitate the fluid exchange of information on the progress of projects.
  • Ensure the timely collection of high-quality inputs for regular and ad hoc reporting to the donor and others as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of understanding of donor priorities, country plans and planned funding initiatives.
  • Track the drafting, review and approval of regular and ad hoc reporting according to donor guidelines and follow up on dissemination as required.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, public administration or other related field.
  • Ability to systematically implement steps toward a strategic vision.
  • Clear understanding of donor priorities in Syria and Turkey.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Methodical and strategic thinking.

Languages
