  • Enhance knowledge on those billion-dollar globalized industries that are parts of the world’s interconnected economy which overlap with – and exacerbate – terrorism, war, conflict, corruption, authoritarianism, and other contemporary security threats.
  • Create an environment in which students, researchers and practitioners can investigate the causes, challenges and solutions to illicit trade practices.
  • Provide and facilitate the dissemination of research findings and evidence on illicit trade and related security issues.

What are the topics we work on?

Illicit Trade is a growing threat to our digitally-driven society. Globalisation, the use of high-tech communication and the emergence of a global market have created a vast range of opportunities for illicit activities that portray serious implications for the wellbeing of states, individuals and communities alike.
