Associazione Ai.Bi. Amici dei Bambini is an Italian non-governmental organization, established in 1986, operating in Italy and in other 33 countries worldwide to guarantee every child the right to be son or daughter. We are searching for a Grant Manager to manage emergency projects in Syria.

Job location: HATAY, Turkey.

Start: March, 2022

Contract: 18 months contract (3 months trial period), extendible.

Ai.Bi. – Associazione Amici dei Bambini is looking for an aid worker who will remotely manage the ongoing projects in Syria and will look for new funding opportunities.

The Grant Manager will have the following duties:

· To coordinate food security, early recovery, protection, education, and governance projects in Syria, both ongoing and to be started. All activities will be carried out in collaboration with local partners, other international organizations and Ai.Bi.’s headquarters.

· To draft intermediate and monitoring reports as well as final and evaluation reports, taking into consideration the expected results indicators.

· To manage all financial resources and available funds; to draft and update intermediate and final financial reports, in compliance with the major national and international donors’ rules (DICA 8 * 1000, AICS, UE, UNOCHA).

· To legally represent and generally coordinate Ai.Bi.’s Turkish branch.

· To work on new project proposals, including budgeting, identifying new issues to be addressed and new partners to involve, or strengthening ongoing thematic priorities and existing partnerships.

· To carry out monitoring activities and feasibility studies in view of new project proposals. To regularly draft operational reports, news, and articles.

· To maintain, foster and build institutional relationships with international donors, and coordinate with the other humanitarian actors within the thematic clusters of reference.

· To regularly update Ai.Bi.’s headquarters on the ongoing activities providing standardized and periodic reports.

· To manage and strengthen the relations with local partners and their technical teams operating in the ongoing projects.

· To regularly update Ai.Bi.’s headquarters on local security aspects and issues.

The perfect applicant/candidate will be graduated in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Cooperation, aged between 30 and 40, and will have previous experience in managing international cooperation projects within developing countries and emergency contexts.

Requirements:

· Experience (at least 3 years) in technical and financial management of development cooperation projects within developing countries and emergency contexts. More specifically, previous experience on projects funded by OCHA, EU (e.g., EIDHR), AICS, 8xmille.

· Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.

· Communication and mediation skills with partners and local institutions.

· Proven expertise in managing and coordinating local partners and project activities.

· Excellent “problem solving” skills and adaptation ability to disadvantaged contexts.

· Good knowledge of Windows Office.

· Previous work experience on cooperation projects in Middle East countries, knowledge of the legal framework for children protection and knowledge of Arabic language will be considered as assets.
