General Description of the Role

The purpose of the Grant Management and Compliance Officer position is to oversee compliance within the organisation and ensure compliance with grant agreements and internal policies and procedures as well as to support the creation, implementation, evaluation and improvement of the internal tools, policies and procedures that provide the framework in which RET teams can operate efficiently.

Place of Work

The Grant Management and Compliance Officer will have access to RET headquarter offices in Geneva for standard workdays but RET also recognizes the ability to work from home when is convenient for the IT Officer and no business requires her or his presence in the headquarter offices in Geneva.

Full–time.

Reporting Line

Grant Management and Compliance Officer reports directly to RET’s Chief of Staff.

Main Responsibilities:

Donor Compliance

· Ensure that RET International and all other RET’s are always duly registered to all donor platforms necessary to submit and that they are in a functioning state for proposals to be submitted at any time.

· Ensuring RET’s compliance with donor rules and regulations including through increasing internal understanding of donors regulations and supporting donor compliance in coordination with various departments.

· Conducts the full range of activities required to prepare, review, and submit concept notes, proposals, and reports to donors in coordination with technical and operations teams.

Grant Management

· Supporting the proposal development team, more specifically to verify proposal compliance and provide input in light of the RET Senior Management’s knowledge and RET’s experience and expertise.

· Creating and maintaining donor contract files in the Share Point; verifying the Project Closure Checklist; entering data in internal databases and other specific tools.

· Contributing to audits by updating grant files and providing feedback to audit questions and requests; ensure files are complete and compliant.

Internal Compliance

· Coordinating projects, which aim to create/improve/implement/evaluate tools, policies, and procedures. **

· Reviewing grant agreements and establish a compliance framework in close coordination with Heads of Departments.

· Ensuring that all existing RET policies and manuals are known by, and easily available to, all relevant staff.

Collaboration

· Representing RET in specific task teams or working groups and in chosen technical meetings, conferences, forums as approved by the Chief of Staff and RET’s President & CEO.

· Other duties and special projects assigned by the Chief of Staff and RET’s President & CEO.

In addition, like all RET Staff;

Comply with internal policies, ensuring that activities and his/her performance complies with what is established in RET’s Code of Conduct and other Safeguarding policies.

Work as a team member to achieve RET’s goals.

Manage in a transparent way RET’s resources, fulfilling effectively and efficiently the tasks entrusted.

Propose, constructively, alternative solutions to problems that arise in the work area.

· Must be fluent in English, French or Spanish professional proficiency is desirable.
