The Opportunity

CUBIC is currently seeking Master’s and PhD level interns to support its projects during the summer of 2023 (or beyond), including, but not restricted to:

  1. De-Sludging SCI Systems in Asia Regional Office (ARO – Singapore).
  2. Reducing children’s engagement in hazardous work In Indonesia and Cote d’Ivoire.
  3. Increasing childhood and pregnant women vaccination in the Philippines.
  4. Reducing gender-based violence among adolescents in Spain.
  5. Increasing uptake of Project Management System (PRIME) in Asia and Africa.
  6. Reducing teacher absenteeism in Mozambique.
  7. School transition project (cross-country analysis).
  8. Various Behavioral Science capacity-building initiatives**.**
  9. Increasing gender equality in OPT.

Key Responsibilities

The intern will be integrated into the 13-person CUBIC team and will have the opportunity to get involved in multiple projects – the expectation for the intern is that s/he would primarily contribute to:

  1. Desk review

  2. Conducting desk research that includes literature reviews, data availability, and project documentation on behavioral issues/previous evidence on particular topics etc.

  3. Conducting stakeholder/policy mapping.

  4. Providing help with Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethical Committee (EC) submissions.

  5. Data analysis

  6. Conducting statistical analysis of existing surveys, census, and available datasets (experience with STATA or R programming, STATA is highly preferred).

  7. Conducting statistical analysis of impact evaluations.

  8. Coding and analyzing qualitative data.

  9. Presentation of data in compelling and comprehensible ways.

  10. Analytical work

  11. Supporting the preparation of presentations at every stage of the project.

  12. Supporting the design of experiments (DOE).

  13. Drafting and/or editing project briefs, reports, and case studies.

  14. Drafting academic papers for journal submission, where results are suitable for publication

  15. Assisting with behavioral design training sessions and capacity building initiatives.

Other tasks as per the intern’s time and interest, and needs of CUBIC.
