Graduate Project Accountant – Bath

We have an exciting opportunity for Graduate Project Accountant to join the finance team in our Bath office. This role will give you the chance to promote and encourage positive working relationships across the business, so if you are looking for a new challenge then we would like to hear from you.

We proudly support hybrid working however, candidates will be expected to be in our office 2-3 days a week.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities:

Project Support

  • Support Project Accountant with month end project reviews.
  • Aid Project accountant on regular project reviews with senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain project portfolio administration for the Cities Business unit including:
  • o Ensure projects comply with business rules before they are approved for use.
  • o Ensure correct processes are followed when closing out projects after completion.
  • Responsible for generating working capital reports and querying balances.
  • Highlight and report on key project opportunities and risks.
  • Aiding the project accountant with recording monthly action logs as a result of project reviews.

Financial

  • Monitoring invoice schedules and ensuring invoices are raised in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring invoicing levels and following up with engineering groups.
  • Project related housekeeping tasks within the finance system, Agresso.
  • Ensure correct revenue treatment is applied and posted on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring project queries are addressed for auditing purposes.

Ad-hoc Support

  • Ensure timesheets by the technical teams are submitted in a timely manner
  • Answer questions and provide assistance to stakeholders and clients as needed
  • Other ad-hoc tasks to support the regional offices and wider function.

More about you:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree to the role.
  • Working towards a further professional qualification (e.g ACCA, CIMA or similar).
  • Strong Microsoft excel skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of collaborating with a team of people as well as working on a one-to-one basis.
  • Driven attitude to work as there will be the ability to grow in the role and to take opportunities to progress.

Desirable skills:

  • Prior experience of the Agresso finance software would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Prior experience of a project focussed organisation would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Prior experience of Deltek Vision would be an advantage, but not essential
