Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Global ‘Strategic Partnerships for Programme Impact’ Lead inCentre -London, UK orany existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.

Role Purpose:

In line with the organisation’s Theory of Change, the Grand Bargain and principles of localization, Save the Children’s 2022-24 Global Strategy calls on the organisation to invest in strategic partnerships as an enabler towards impact on the lives of children, in line with strategic goals and cross-cutting “enablers”. In order to elevate and amplify impact from partnerships, a deliberate outcome-driven approach that aligns with Save the Children’s partnership principles is required. Key milestones to achieve this have already been defined.

One such milestone is the ‘Strategic Partnerships for Programme Impact’ workstream. To deliver this, the Global ‘Strategic Partnerships for Programme Impact’ Lead will be responsible for driving the implementation of the work-plan for the benefit of all contexts. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, this includes the following:

  1. Lead the implementation of the Strategic Partnerships for Programme Impact workstream to support SCI’s global ambitions to maximise impact, in collaboration with other SCI centre functions, members and thematic colleagues.
  2. Support strategic partnership approaches (specifically related to programming) at the global and regional levels, through the development of tools, guidance and templates as well as providing advice to colleagues.
  3. Lead on knowledge management, sharing and learning of Strategic Partnership approaches and best practices – including equitable partnering.

In this one-year position, the postholder will be responsible for establishing the workstream and forming working relationships and collaboration that will contribute to the long-term success of the workstream. The postholder will also deliver on core activities to support development of partnerships that will contribute to achievement of the Global Goals.

In the event of a major event, deadline, incident or risk related to partnership work, the role holder may be expected to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of and practical experience in partnership management in country and/or regional settings, to include partnership strategy development, partnership brokering and partnership management, both in development and humanitarian contexts.
  • Significant senior experience working with rights-based approaches and or relevant thematic areas such as, but not limited to, partnerships.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including a proven ability to influence at high levels, to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy in a federated structure, across different teams.
  • Familiar with partnership principles and the localisation agenda.
  • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills. Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles. Ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines with the capacity to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Experience using Sharepoint-based knowledge management systems.
  • Excellent business partnering, communication and relationship building skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage productive relationships with SC member agencies and senior staff
  • Significant training, facilitation and capacity building skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and business intelligence/reporting/monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Strong and clear commitment to Save the Children’s values.
  • Partnership Brokering certification desirable.

We can offer circa £54,150 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
