This specialist adds value to marketing teams serving Compassion supporters around the world by leading advanced analyses of primary and secondary research data. Strong strategic acumen enables upfront input into qualitative and quantitative research design to achieve internal stakeholder goals. Expertise in statistics and programming required to conduct robust analyses of structured and unstructured data gathered from various sources. At this level, the incumbent leads projects independently and collaborates with other team members to shape research and recommendations that achieve deep audience and market insight.

What will you do?

  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Formulate analysis plans and designs in partnership with market research leads to ensure the necessary data is captured to perform an actionable analysis and recommendation.
  • Integrate data across multiple studies, sources, or frameworks to ensure a comprehensive and consistent data story is represented in analyses.
  • Conduct in-depth data review using traditional and advanced methods, including complex statistical techniques. In addition, perform analyses and prepares forecasts and recommendations using analyses such as regressions, data weighting, factor analyses, latent class analyses, clustering, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
  • Strategically prioritizes and selects data to leverage or ignore in analyses with a keen awareness of organizational and personal biases.
  • Packages and updates data in visualization tools with relevant filter and display options for consumption by marketers and internal stakeholders.
  • Based on empirical research and analysis findings and conclusions, authors or contributes to major reports containing valid conclusions and actionable recommendations, summarizing marketing, program, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, and other stakeholders, involving making live presentations, answering questions, and instilling confidence in stakeholders by making complex insights easily consumable.
  • Maintain or cooperate in the maintenance of business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods, including the creation or review of technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions.
  • May be called on to provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, or outputs, as well as maintain a library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
  • May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the business intelligence discipline.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer programming, data science, business intelligence, or business analytics
  • Seven years’ relevant experience working in this or a related field.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
  • SQL and SPSS proficiency a plus.
  • Experience with structured and unstructured survey data.
  • Experience in machine learning a plus.
  • Marketing experience preferred.
