This new position sits in the Strategy, Innovation, and Evidence Office (SIEO) which is housed within the Office of the Chief Executive Officer and led by the Chief Strategy and Evidence Officer (CSEO.) The Advisor will work closely with the CSEO, the Strategy Manager, and other members of the SIEO team and will also collaborate extensively with teams across the organization.

  • Identifying and supporting coordinators and coaches for innovation among program and technical staff
  • Exploring innovation partnerships with social entrepreneurs and others

The successful candidate will have knowledge of international (and ideally domestic) programming across multiple sectors and be familiar with innovations both successful and failed, spanning processes and products, and ranging from adjacent to transformational. The successful candidate will also be experienced in evidence use with a strong knowledge of the methodologies used to assess contexts and needs and to evaluate innovations in pilot and at scale. The Global Innovation Advisor will be a strong communicator, collaborator, and workshop facilitator with a passion for organizational learning.

The Global Innovation Advisor will report directly to the CSEO initially and work closely with other members of the SIEO, including supporting other SIEO functions, especially strengthening learning systems. The Advisor may supervise interns and will be expected to contribute to mentoring of all team members. All staff in the SIEO work in-person in FHI 360’s DC office one day a week with the rest of the team. Occasionally SIEO staff are required to attend additional in-person meetings in the FHI 360 DC office or elsewhere in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
