POSITION SUMMARY:

The Global Health Technical Coordinator will be asked to perform tasks for the technical unit not limited to evaluating past and current business processes/data with the primary goal of improving decision-making processes within the unit as well as performing other functions as and when assigned by the Chief (CHO) or Deputy Chief Health Officer (D-CHO).

The technical coordinator will lead and perform activities such as reviewing and establishing processes for program quality assessment and oversight; conducting analysis of technical oversight processes and/or operations effectiveness; establishing guidelines, regulations, and analyses related to Technical Unit-supported activities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help lead analyzing current business processes at Technical Unit for program quality and oversight, business development, knowledge management as well as monitoring and evaluation functions. For Ex. Technical Approval Process at HQ (TAP-HQ) piloting effort
  • Develop efficient processes and lead change management to assess and improve program and performance management for the technical portfolio prioritized in Project HOPE’s 5-Year Strategy – MNCH portfolio management will be a priority
  • Improve internal controls, improve the efficiency of operations, increase transparency and program quality management, and help comply with laws and regulations.
  • Establish program quality assessment/review M&E processes for the USG-funded Global Health and Development Portfolio in Africa
  • Coordinate technical unit functions with the rest of the organization mainly with Business Development Unit, Regional and Country Teams, Legal and Compliance Unit and Communications Team
  • Assist in establishing processes for developing new areas of technical work and new consulting opportunities – Needs Assessment as well as Thought Leadership Activities
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a business or project manager and analyzing business data/situations and problems in both domestic and international environments
  • Experience in assessing and writing analysis reports
  • Relevant experience in international development, in areas such as but not limited to global health and emergency response are preferred
  • Proven experience managing large international projects or supporting business process review, support business operations including planning, formulation, and execution) and will support process improvement recommendations.
  • Experience with financial management, internal controls, and compliance activities
  • Ability to develop strong teamwork and relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Creative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mindset
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite and SharePoint
  • Well organized and be able to manage numerous, simultaneous activities

Work environment:

  • Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.
  • Emergency deployments may be in resource-deprived environments with austere living conditions.
  • Travel for extended periods may be by air and/or other modes of transportation.
  • While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently.
  • Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship.”

Salary starting at $60,000 USD per year. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
