The Royal Australasian College of Surgeon’s (RACS) via its global health programs delivers surgical and anaesthetic care, specialised clinical services and governance, medical education, training, and workforce development through partnerships with 15 APAC countries and 9 international programs. RACS is an ANCP accredited agency supported by the Australian Government, and programs are implemented in collaboration with local communities, Ministries of Health, Regional Organisations (WHO/WPRO/SPC) specialist colleges and associations, and delivery partners.
Crucially, the global health programs support the local health care systems to develop so they can provide quality medical services into the future.

The Role
In this newly scoped role you will lead the development, growth and management funding proposals primarily to institutional donors such as DFAT, MFAT, USAID, WHO and ADB. You will work with partners, the international program staff and key stakeholders in Melbourne nurturing relationships with funders, preparing projects for funding and managing successful contracts.
You will work with the Head of Global Health and the Program and Operations manager and Timor Leste Country Manager to support and develop strategies to build a strong grants and partnership team and oversee its outputs. You will support the design of multi-million dollar projects funded by diverse institutional and private donors.
Specifically you will:
- Identify and determine suitable funding opportunities
- Engage stakeholders, members and technical experts to assist proposal development
- Ensure technical, financial and programmatic quality of project concepts and designs
- Oversee grants management and quality delivery of a variety of donor contracts
- Consolidate stakeholder input for developing programming tools, frameworks and proposals
- Analyse and summarize strategies, policies, guidelines and opportunities
Skills Required
You are ideally an experienced international development grants and partnerships leader, you have a track record managing complex, donor funded programs and in the preparation of submissions for grants, ideally for, International NGOs. You also have:
- An interest in leading, managing and building capacity of team members
- Ability to identify and develop field opportunities that engage donors or investors
- Proven grants management experience with internal and external stakeholders
- Exemplary writing and communications skills, including for diverse audiences
