About MAG:

MAG saves lives and builds futures by working with others to reclaim land contaminated with the debris of conflict, to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians, and to create safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines for our work to ban landmines. Our vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict.

About the role:

Reporting to the Global Head of Procurement and Logistics, the Global Fleet Manager will be responsible for redesigning and deploying MAG global management standards for fleet management, while evaluating the fleet portfolio with a view to identify the risks and put forward recommendations for strategic improvements.

The role is both strategic and hands-on, leading critical transformations for a global fleet composed of more than 1000 light vehicles and trucks, and working in close coordination with MAG Mechanical Operations team members to ensure adequate management of MAG plan and demining machineries.

You will be interfacing with Regional Procurement & Logistics Managers, to support improvements in key areas, such as planning, standardization, sustainability of fleet and cost optimization.

The role is mostly aimed at professionals that highly value working across different cultures, appreciate travelling to field locations, are comfortable with the limitations that are sometimes imposed in a complex operating context, and are eager to provide a substantial contribution in modernising and optimising fleet management processes at global scale.

About you:

You will need previous experience in overseas vehicle fleet management, preferably on a larger scale for an international aid/humanitarian organisation. You must have experience of successfully developing, implementing, managing and monitoring procedures, systems and processes to ensure an efficient Fleet function. You will need to be a dynamic, motivated self-starter who is able to travel for long periods to our MAG programmes.

This varied role will require a proven background in capacity building staff at different levels of seniority, from drivers to senior managers. Building solid relationships and networking will also be a key skill. Fluency in English is essential for this role, while having a 2nd language in French, Spanish or Arabic would represent an added value.
