Position Overview

The Global Digital M&E Officer will support the design and implementation of Trickle Up’s digital data collection, analysis, and visualization systems, in close collaboration with the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research. The Global Digital M&E (GDME) Officer is responsible for collaborating with our project teams to develop actionable plans for digital data collection, analysis, and reflection. The GDME officer will also maintain TU’s monitoring and evaluation databases, as well as the organization’s global M&E dashboard with the support of the MER Director.

The GDME Officer will play a key role in the digitization of TU’s M&E systems, supporting both HQ and field-based staff to develop systems and processes to create M&E plans, ensure data quality, and use our data to both improve program quality and impact, and to share evidence with our peer communities and wider external audiences.

Principal functions

  • Work as part of a broader team to design, facilitate and support digital data collection (including monitoring tools and baseline, annual, and end-line surveys) in alignment with Trickle Up’s Global MIS.
  • Technical support to Trickle Up staff members to regularly collect, enter, and verify data.
  • Support Trickle Up field-level staff in data analysis.
  • Provide technical support to Trickle Up staff on the digitization of data collection tools (on phones and/or tablets).
  • Support the training of Trickle Up staff and partners on M&E systems, digital data collection, and data visualization
  • Co-design and facilitate training-of-trainer sessions (ToTs) and refresher trainings to reinforce the required skills for Trickle Up and partner staff members.
  • Follow-up on technical issues regarding the digital data collection process; provide basic technical support and troubleshooting as needed
  • Generate data reports from the database and dashboard at regular intervals, as required
  • Support the design and implementation of TU’s project, regional, and global dashboards
  • Support the integration of M&E findings into project management and design

Qualifications

Education requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (BA, BSc, BComm, etc.) in economics, statistics, quantitative social sciences, computer science, or another relevant field.

Experience requirements

  • Four to six years of work experience related to digital data collection and analysis
  • Experience with mobile data collection (e.g., ODK, CommCare, SurveyCTO)
  • Experience with field-based data collection, preferably in rural and low-resource settings
  • Experience in developing and/or delivering trainings related to M&E and digital data collection
  • Experience in supporting multi-project/program M&E systems
  • A proven track record of self-learning digital platforms
  • Preferred: Experience with Salesforce and Tableau

  • Required: Native or bilingual fluency in English
  • Desired: The ability to work in Spanish, Hindi, Oriya, or other local/indigenous Indian, Guatemalan, or Mexican languages is also valued

Other requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including to locations with limited amenities
  • Willingness to work across several time zones, with the flexibility to participate in early morning or after-hours calls with teams in Guatemala, Mexico, Uganda, and India.
