• The General Manager – Compliance is a leadership position responsible for company-wide processes that establish and maintain a compliance culture and transparency.
• The successful candidate will implement a structure Compliance Program to be articulated at Global, Regional and Local level

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and monitoring the compliance program (and implementation of new initiatives)
• Establishing methods to improve efficiency and quality of services, and to reduce the vulnerability to fraud, abuse, and waste
• Reporting on a regular basis to the governing body (Management Committee, leadership and Regional Compliance Committee on progress and concerns
• Periodically revising the program in light of changes in the needs of the organization, and in the law and policies
• Developing, coordinating, and/or participating in educational and training program that focuses on the elements of the compliance program, and seeks to ensure that all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of, and comply with pertinent standards
• Conducting periodic risk assessments and response plans, compliance, including the flexibility to design and coordinate internal investigations and any resulting corrective actions
• Independently acting on matters related to compliance, including the flexibility to design and coordinate internal investigations and any resulting corrective actions
• Developing policies and programs that encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of retaliation

Background & Experience:

• Minimum: BSc / BA in Law, or Business Administration, or related field.
• Ideal: Postgraduate qualification in Law or Business Administration
• At least 2 or more years of compliance experience within an international business / familiarity with human resource procedures and regulations
• Proven experience as Compliance Manager in a big organization.

Additional requirements / skills:

• In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry’s standards and regulations
• An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations
• A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
• Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
• Ability to think laterally
• Thorough understanding of company rules – or the ability to quickly learn them.
• Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, versatile and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
• Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization
• Certified compliance professional will be an added advantage
