Overview of position:
Chelsea Energie is looking to hire a General Manager.

Role objectives:
Oversee the overall daily business operations of the power plant & the additional power plants in the future.
Creation of the annual operation & maintenance budget of the plant in collaboration with the managers.
Full control on the strict implementation with respect to the investments, revenues, expenses & ensure compliance with the objective to optimize revenue & minimize expenses.
Execute together with other managers, the annual objectives at different areas of the plant, making sure that the objectives & strategies are aligned within the group to contribute on the fulfillment of the company’s vision & mission.
Organize & collaborate with the respective managers & the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Officer for the carrying out of the annual plant capacity test.
Annual inspection of the plant to obtain business permit & annual environmental compliance audit to get the required permit to operate (if applicable).
Lead the bimonthly management meeting.
Monitor & ensure the strict implementation of the required levels of safety of the plant’s equipment & machineries & human resources as well as the health of every individual, the conservation of the environment & to ensure that all the activities are strictly performed with all the norms & procedures established by the company.
Preserve the integrity of the company at the highest level & to ensure that the power plant attain & maintain its best possible performance that conforms to the highest degree of international standards.
Assist the Administration Manager in the recruitment, hiring & evaluating employees & ensure staff complies with the company policy & procedures.
Identify business growth opportunities.
Training of low-level managers, staff & future client O&M staff, such as basic diesel engine & power plant electrification courses.
Create & set additional policies & processes.
Creation of monthly reports & annual operating plan for top management / shareholders.
Ensure staff work productively & develop professionally.
Provide solutions to power plant complex issues.
Represent the company in the meeting with client’s top management.

Project reporting:
This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with at least fifteen years of Wartsila power plant related experience on a large capacity gas or diesel engine power plant preferably on an O&M contract.
Worked previously as an Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager & Plant Manager of a gas / diesel power plant.
Computer literate & must have knowledge working on any Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
Fluent in English, both oral & written.
Ability to communicate both verbally & in writing, ability to create effective working relationships with employees & clients.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills in particular technical report writing & presentation skills.
Possess skill in troubleshooting of diesel generating set complex issues.

Team management:
Strong team management experience is required for this role..
