Save the Children Netherlands is looking for an intern to support its Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy. The role involves conducting a range of GESI activities at three levels: project and programmatic level, Departmental and Organizational level.

Save the Children Netherlands (SCNL) and its Program Quality Team (PQT) is responsible to drive, support and measure evidence-based and innovative strategies and programs, to achieve our breakthroughs for children. What is the focus of the Gender Equality & Social inclusion Internship?

You will learn to conduct Gender & Inclusion Mainstreaming activities, Gender Analysis and enhancing the integration of our crosscutting Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy at three levels:

  • Project/program level: You will engage in a large cross multi country Child Labor related Gender Analysis (GA) and Action Plan development for the Work No Child’s Business (WNCB) Alliance by

  • Actively participating and support the Alliance’s Global Gender Equality Working Group (GEWG)

  • Assisting the 6-country specific Gender Analysis rollout and process

  • Support each Gender Action plans development

  • International Programs Department level: As part of our commitment to Gender Equality, each new project must be assessed against a required tool, the Gender Equality Marker (GEM)

  • Support program manager to assist COs in using the GEM for new projects

  • Collect data and report relevant finding regarding the use of the GEM

  • Assist capacity building activities and training around the GEM

  • Organizational level: As part of SCNL’s commitment to staff wellbeing, SCNL has adopted a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) action a plan. You will support:

  • The Gender Equality Self-Assessment (GESA) exercise, to ensure the organization is more diverse and inclusive

  • Assisting on the creation of Focus Groups Discussions as part of the GESA process

You will be supervised by Program Manager Gender, Localization & Learning and work closely with the Youth Economic Empowerment and Gender Equality Senior Technical Expert.

Who are you?

· Flexible working style, self-motivated and willing to learn

· Currently studying or following a bachelor or master’s degree relevant to the topic (eg. gender studies, development studies, anthropology, sociology) **

· Teamwork and facilitation skills

· Some experience in evaluation and assessment especially in Gender studies is a plus

· Good oral and written communication skills, good command of English language. French language skills are an advantage.

What do we have to offer you?

· We provide an opportunity to get firsthand work experienced on the NGO sector.

· Gross internship fee of € 300 per month for five days a week.

· Expense allowance, including travel expenses for home/work

Offers are subject to positive references and the submission of a recent Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
