Position Description
TITLE: Gender Equality Disability and Social Inclusion Consultant
UNIT: Philippine Office
REPORTS TO: Program Leader, Civil Maritime Security Program
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
GEDSI Consultant will support the Waypoints Program efforts to strengthen its Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion component, improve the program’s ability to assess the impact of work, and skillfully use these insights to inform and shape reform work and other components of the program.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience: At least seven years of relevant experience designing, managing, and implementing activities to promote gender equality, disability, and social inclusion.
- Education: Master’s degree or higher in the relevant subject area(s), preferably in gender, social work, political science, international development, or community development required. Bachelor’s degree is sufficient if supported by extensive work experience.
Skills/Competencies:
- Strong understanding of gender equality, disability and social inclusion issues particularly in the civil maritime security sector or in the broader security sector.
- Ability to navigate politically sensitive subjects and maintain constructive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, particularly in the context of GEDSI.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and transmit their vision to partners and colleagues.
- Ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate with others.
- Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.**
