MdM currently works in 30 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.

MdM recently conducted a fact-finding mission in the neighbouring countries of Ukraine to assess the needs of people displaced by the conflict. MdM is starting operations in Poland, Moldova, and Romania to support refugees and host-communities for a better access to healthcare.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the alternating supervision of the general coordinators of the three countries, you ensure that relevant gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response activities are identified and integrated into the programmes in Poland, Moldova and Romania, while supporting and monitoring their implementation.

You have a functional link with the GBV advisor based at the headquarters, while working closely with the different programme and technical coordinators.

Your main responsibilities are the following:

Organisation, coordination and supervision of GBV activities

  • Analyse the intervention context in relation to GBV (gaps, needs, mapping of actors)
  • Lead the definition and the adaptation of the strategy in Poland, Moldova and Romania
  • Develop and monitor partnerships with local NGOs and/or state actors
  • Ensure planning, implementation and monitoring of activities as well as budget follow-up
  • Ensure the development and the use of tools for the management of GBV activities
  • Participate in the coordination efforts with other GBV actors (GBV working and sub-working groups, regional gender sub-cluster, protection cluster…)
  • Participate in the writing of proposals and reports for donors, ensure prevention and response to GBV are integrated

Capacity building and training

  • Identify capacity building needs and propose relevant capacity building plan and training opportunities
  • Adapt and disseminate training manuals on GBV prevention and response
  • Organise and/or facilitate training sessions on GBV prevention and response and ensure their quality
  • Provide technical support to all supervisors and staff
  • Collaborate with the sexual and reproductive health and rights team and the mental health and psychosocial team to set up adequate training and supervision

Communication, advocacy and representation

  • Participate in the development of external and internal communication strategy and tools
  • Participate in the dissemination of MdM’s approach, results and lessons learnt
  • Contribute to the development and the implementation of the advocacy strategy
  • Represent MdM at various thematic workshops, conferences and strategic meetings

Reporting, information management and internal coordination

  • Ensure GBV data management system is in place
  • Contribute to the capitalisation on the GBV response
  • Share with the programme and medical teams any difficulties met in the field, propose solutions or adjustments
  • Share with the general coordinator and the medical team the minutes of all clusters and working groups
  • Contribute to monthly internal reporting

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Status : Employee
  • Contract : Fixed-term contract
  • Duration : 6 months
  • Starting date: August 1, 2022
  • Gross monthly salary: 2 940 euros
  • Premium equal to one month salary paid in two instalments – minimum of 6 months seniority required
  • Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)

  • 22.5 RTT (recovery days) per year
  • 5 weeks of paid leaves per year
  • Health insurance (60% covered by MdM and 40% by the employee)

  • Teleworking agreement for positions eligible to telework: 110 days/year (minimum of 1 day per week onsite)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Master’s degree in public health, social work, development studies, humanitarian affairs or related social science disciplines
  • At least two years of experience in the humanitarian field, including at least one year in direct management of comprehensive GBV programmes in the field
  • Experience in technical support to partners, advocacy and network facilitation
  • Knowledge of international standards and guidelines on prevention and response to GBV in humanitarian contexts
  • Knowledge of pack Office 365
  • Sense of organisation, sense of priorities, analytical skills
  • Sense of initiative, autonomy, participation/contribution to a team
  • Listening skills, communication
  • Adaptability
  • Languages: fluent English (written and spoken) mandatory
