Chemonics

Chemonics seeks a Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor for the USAID-funded Egypt Water Resilience Activity. This 5-year activity will focus on improving evidence-based policymaking for water and wastewater utility resilience, improving implementation of adaptation strategies at selected governorates, and increasing awareness about climate change in selected communities. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Reporting:

The GESI Advisor will report to the Chief of Party.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that GESI interventions are mainstreamed within the project’s activities.
  • Maintain technical quality control for all assigned areas of training and capacity-building related work, including design and implementation of training curricula, and development of a cohesive, integrated and sustainable training system.
  • Ensure that the performance targets and deliverables relating to training and capacity-strengthening outlined in the Water Resilience Activity agreement and annual work plans are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, and that they meet high quality standards; coordinate with management teams and suggest adjustments as needed.
  • Liaise regularly with representatives of ministries, counterparts and stakeholders’ representatives responsible for overseeing and implementing, GESI, training and capacity-building programs.
  • Contribute to project quarterly reports, annual work plans, and other project reports and deliverables as required.
  • Coordinate tasks with other project staff working as a team as directed by the Chief of Party.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in social services, business administration, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience with institutional development and/or training programs in Egypt, at least two (2) years of which should be as a training manager or comparable experience.
  • Experience working with USAID or other donor-funded programs is preferred.
  • Experience working with public, private and/or a government ministry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated professional excellence and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and coordinate with diverse actors, including government, NGOs, civil society organizations, and private sector.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
