The USAID-funded Clean Cities Blue Ocean (CCBO) project in the USA, implemented by Tetra Tech International, is currently accepting expressions of interest for Gender Advisor. This position will be located in Lima, Peru.

The Gender Advisor will support the CCBO team and partners to ensure that program activities have a gender perspective, assisting them in transforming gender roles and status and in the prevention of gender-based violence in the SWM sector.

Responsibilities:

*Identify the needs for capacity development in gender perspective implementation among CCBO team and partners.

*Design and implement a training plan for CCBO Peru and partners to address identified capacity building needs with the objective of increasing their ability to promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.

*Monitor and report the capacity building progress on gender, based on the training and strategic activities implemented with CCBO Peru team and partners.

*Elaborate guidelines for the technical team and partners to mainstream the gender perspective approach in the activities carrying out in the three cities.

*Support the CCBO Peru team to ensure that the gender equality perspective is incorporated in any future procurement process.

*Review the Initial Gender Assessment (IGA) of all CCBO Peru´s Grantees, and support the gender perspective integration in the Grants approval documents and implementation, in alignment with TetraTech and USAID Gender policy.

*Support the monitoring of gender approach integration in the implementation of related activities of grantees and subcontractors.

*Provide bi-weekly updates on CCBO gender activities in Peru (Paita, Mancora y Pisco).

*Participate in meetings required by CCBO team to report the activities development and results related to the implementation of the Gender strategy in Peru.

*Provide information on gender approach update as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

*Graduate degree in a relevant field.

*At least seven years of experience working on gender inclusion (mainstreaming), gender-based violence and women’s economic empowerment for development projects and government.

*Experience on develop and conduction training and coaching on gender perspective and inclusion. *Experience to monitor and evaluate the mainstreaming of the gender approach in interventions, programs and/or projects.

*Citizenship: Peruvian

* Fluency in Spanish. Fluency in English is desirable.
