Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF) is a women led National Non-government organization with 21 years’ experience and actively responding to the emergency Humanitarian needs across the BAY states.
JDF Humanitarian responds to the humanitarian needs across the BAY states through the following sectors.
i. Gender Based Violence (GBV)
ii. Child protection
iii. Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
iv. Health and Nutrition
v. Food security and livelihood
vi. Protection, Peace Building and Climate Action Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking three (3) candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience working as an GBV PSS ASSOCIATE to provide support on GBV prevention and response in Yobe state.
Duties and Responsibilities

The PSS associate will be responsible for organizing and implementing group psychosocial activities at the women and girls center including skills and knowledge building activities.

The PSS associate will lead community mobilization for psycho education, awareness and sensitization at community level.

Responsible in coordinating with beneficiaries, identify relevant skills building and recreational activities to be conducted at the women friendly space and draw up a schedule for activity implementation

Identify and make a requisition for all materials required to conduct safe space activities.

Organize feedback session monthly with beneficiaries of WGSS activities to identify strengths and weaknesses of the space and identify solutions for sharing with the GBV officer for improvement.

Organize and implement monthly discussion sessions with adolescents on GBV related topics

Organize and implant biweekly discussions with men in the community on GBV related topics

Maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct.

Compile and submit monthly report.

Any other duty assigned.
Qualification and experience
Essential:
-
A University degree or its equivalent in social sciences, guidance and counselling or relevant fields.

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and protection programming experience, and/or advocacy programs.

Professional training in Gender based violence.

Experience in protection interventions in line with humanitarian principles and guidelines

Experience of working with Non‐Governmental organizations.
-
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential.

Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness.

Computer skills.
-
Good self-organization and basic management skills.
-
Knowledge of the local languages Kanuri and Hausa

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation and UN-funded projects desired.

Familiarity with the local context and terrain.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Advanced computer skills, including the ability to type quickly and to use Microsoft Office products, email, and internet.

Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive issues or projects and use judgement to execute duties and responsibilities.

Sensitive to cultural differences and an understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infections subcontractors, and recipients of assistance.

Fluency in English and Hausa (written & spoken).

Knowledge of health programs.
