ABOUT MEDGLOBAL

MedGlobal is a global humanitarian non-profit organization providing medical and health education services to people in need, including refugees and displaced persons, in disaster and underserved regions. The organization is composed of medical and public health professionals of diverse backgrounds.

As a small but rapidly growing global health organization, we are looking for a Fundraising Coordinator who will play a key role in developing our online fundraising and increasing our donations whilst developing a donor relations strategy in cooperation with senior leadership. This person will be responsible for supporting and developing the build and organization of MedGlobal fundraising campaigns (weekly, monthly, and yearly campaigns). In addition to setting goals and metrics related to donor outreach, solicitations, gifts and pledges, and other critical metrics, the Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for developing an acquisition plan to generate new leads and identify innovative approaches to achieve the annual fundraising targets.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Coordinate the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective strategies to achieve income targets for each program.
• Enhance and develop online fundraising tools
• Develop an acquisition plan and identify innovative approaches to expand individual donors’ networks, drive growth and achieve the annual fundraising targets
• Work with the communications and development departments to develop an innovative model to grow MedGlobal’s brand presence, establish key relationships, cultivate new donors, and steward existing donors.

Fundraising Management

• Develop, nurture and maintain all donor relationships including individual donors, corporate, business, faith-based, and service/ community-based organizations.
• Set goals and metrics related to donor outreach, solicitations, gifts and pledges, and other critical metrics.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and rules regarding donors’ privacy data and communication.
• Develop and maintain a funder database as a research and relationship management tool using Kindful as a CRM.
• Builds and organizes MedGlobal fundraising campaigns (weekly, monthly, and yearly campaigns).
• Increase the number of recurring donors.
• Engage influencers to incentivize target individual donor groups.
• Develop and implement donor strategies focused on moving donors up the giving pyramid.
• Lead the development and execution of donor-focused events and virtual engagement opportunities.
• Secure corporate gifts for major fundraising moments, including the annual gala event.
• Engage Board Members and the Executive Director in the ongoing solicitation and cultivation to solicit funds.
• Design and coordinate collateral development for special campaigns, including but not limited to Giving Tuesday, Ramadan, Thanksgiving, and year-end campaigns.
• Work with the Accounting team to ensure timely donor acknowledgments are sent.

Major Gifts Cultivation

• Design and execute planned giving campaign
• Grow a portfolio of donor-advised fund holders

Donor Stewardship

• Cultivate, solicit and steward gifts, and staff executives, program leaders, and board members in fundraising activities
• Recommend new programs, publications, communication tools, and activities to grow and/or streamline the current portfolio of recognition activities and stewardship programs.
• Determine development opportunities and solicit information for stewardship communications

Communications

• Coordinate with the communications department to ensure the creation of marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes.
• Support gift acknowledgment processes during peak seasons.
• Respond to donor inquiries.
• Attend events as necessary.
• Develop and manage donor education and engagement activities.
• Develop strategy memoranda and meeting scripts to prepare senior staff to make successful tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements and Skills:

The fundraising Coordinator should have the following skills, education, and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a fundraising position with exposure to donor stewardship and recognition of best practices
• Strong experience in social media fundraising
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to develop/write fundraising campaigns contents
• Willingness and ability to work outside the regularly scheduled workday as needed
• Must be independent, proactive, and able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines
• Strong goal orientation with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and respond to development opportunities as they arise
• Willingness and ability to handle confidential information
• Strong knowledge of fundraising & donor management software ­­­­
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Prior experience within non-profit fundraising is essential
