
Concordis International
London-based peacebuilding charity seeks interns to become actively involved in communication and fundraising, providing meaningful assistance to the organisation as it carries out its mission.
Concordis is a UK registered peacebuilding charity with programmes in Central African Republic, Mauritania, Sudan and South Sudan, plus some new work in the pipeline.
We work alongside those involved in or affected by armed conflict, helping them find workable solutions that address the root causes of conflict and contribute to lasting peace and economic development. We’re committed to finding solutions that benefit women as well as men, those in armed groups as well as those who chose not to take up arms, national governments as well as civil society.
Concordis welcomes applications from potential interns who have proven experience in communications or fundraising.

Remuneration
Volunteer; there is no salary or stipend, but Concordis will reimburse reasonable expenses including a small daily lunch allowance of £5/day.
Training
Concordis will ensure interns receive a high level of relevant experience, including training from senior members of staff

Overview
You will develop your existing skills in communications and/or fundraising, receiving coaching from senior staff as you put these into practice in the professional environment of a peacebuilding charity.
Concordis seeks to build relationships of trust and respect, considering this the key to successful intervention in peace processes. The work of all members of the Concordis team is required to conform to and advance such an approach.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
During your internship you will become a valued member of Concordis’ close-knit team, in which we rely on each member to contribute their skills to our work. We’re particularly looking for people to work on fundraising and communications.
You will work with the Director of Operations to implement communications and fundraising plans for Concordis. This will involve working with the Director of Programmes and the programme teams both in the UK and in Africa. You will help us
– communicate the delicate nuance of peacebuilding work to a wider audience through newsletters, printed publications, social media and videos.
– generate much needed funds from private donors and grant-making trusts.
There is a great deal of flexibility needed when working for Concordis. You may be asked to work on any element of Concordis’ work. As a small team we all pitch in to do anything.
Concordis’ internships are designed to give you concrete experience of this kind of work within the international development sector, helping you get yourself established in this competitive field.
