Brief description of HIH:

Hand in Hand for Aid and Development (HIHFAD), previously operating as Hand in Hand for Syria, was established as a UK registered charity soon after the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011 by a group of British Syrians in order to deliver humanitarian assistance to civilians impacted by the conflict in Syria. From humble beginnings the charity has grown to become one of the leading humanitarian actors serving Syrian communities both inside Syria and in neighbouring countries, employing over 1000 staff in Syria, Turkey and the UK.

Job Responsibilities:

Development of Project Concept notes:

  • Suggesting ideas for new projects and help in developing concept notes drafts in cooperation with the team and according to the direct manager instructions.
  • Activating the integrated development of projects concept notes through cooperation with the supporting departments in design of projects such as HR, logistic, finance and MEAL departments.

The Project Implementation:

  • Setting the field and scheduled plans to implement the project activities in cooperation with the team and according to the direct manager instructions.
  • Verification and following up of the team implementation of the project activities according to the adopted schedule in coordination with the direct manager.‎
  • Updating and amending working plans and schedules when needed in cooperation with the team according to the direct manager instructions.
  • Coordination and working closely with HR, MEAL and Security departments regarding the recruiting processes, visits to the projects locations and safety and security procedures which the project needs according ‎to the direct manager instructions.‎
  • Following up the reports of the field team, ensuring the compliance with project reports schedule, and overseeing applying ‎quality standards and verify the accuracy of information and data.‎
  • Tracking the contracts status of the staff of projects assigned to him/her and renewal of contracts according to the budgets in coordination with the HR department and according to the direct manager instructions.
  • Collecting the daily reports of teams’ field movement ‎and preparing a report about it in coordination with the direct manager, the safety and security department and verifying information before sharing them with partners.

Representation:

  • Focal point with donors of projects in cooperation with the direct manager and providing them with continuous updates about the progress of projects work in addition to representing a focal point for technical support with the technical expert assigned by donors and responding to any inquiry they arise in coordination with the direct manager.
  • Attend food security and cash-related meeting including its technical working groups and provide representation as requested.
  • Collecting the daily reports of teams’ field movement ‎and preparing a report about it in coordination with the direct manager, the safety and security department and verifying information before sharing them with partners.
  • Sharing the teams field movement weekly plans ‎with partners and update it daily and periodically in addition preparing daily and weekly reports about them according to the direct manager instructions.

Technical Supervision:

  • The technical supervision on the team and taking responsibility of the required technical quality for work.‎
  • Establishing working plans for all assigned activities to the team within the adopted schedule from the direct manager.
  • Establishing effective communication mechanisms through integrated tasks allocation depends on completion of the team assigned tasks life cycle.
  • Participation in recruitment process and performance evaluation in coordination with the direct manager and according to the direct manager instructions.
  • Working to the department capacity building through providing the development needs required to implement the work.
  • Ensuring that all the team members is committed to the adopted organization policies and procedures and adhering to the office rules completely.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (food processing, agriculture etc.)
  • Working experience: up to one year’ experience (professional) in a non-profit organization.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic, where English & Turkish is essential.
  • Computer skills: Very good (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
