Action Against Hunger intervenes in four main areas: Nutrition, Mental Health & Care Practices; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Food Security and Livelihoods; Advocacy and Raising Awareness.
Overall objective of the position
In charge of organizing and mentoring the teams for the FSL programs, in cooperation with the Program Manager.
Assignment 1: Support the implementation of FSL activities
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Coordinate with the ACF logistic and the administrative team for activities implementation, and respecting internal procedures
- Support in the organization and coordination of Community Mobilizers’ activities
- Support in the coordination of Business Experts’ activities
- Follow up on logistic activities conducted for the project implementation
- Insure a good use of the items allocated to the project
- Insure time tables and planning are respected for ACF FSL staff; link with administration
Assignment 2: Ensure proper internal follow up of the activities
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Collect reports from the field workers
- Insure quality of reporting
- Analyse data collected in the database and other program tools
- Analyse the data provided and report to the FSL Program Manager
- Support internal and external reporting requirements
Assignment 3: Facilitate the coordination with external partners
- Gather information in order to get an updated mapping of each camp/area of intervention
- Set up and follow up on coordination mechanisms
- Identify focal points in each organisation in order to raise awareness about the activity and to refer appropriately
- Organize meetings with vocational training centres and local authorities
- Support the organization of the external consultancy and Training of Trainers process
Assignment 4: Support on-going assessments in FSL in close collaboration with the FSL Head of Department and MEAL
- According to needs identified, gaps, ACF opportunities, support the development / translation of appropriate assessment tools
- Facilitate the implementation of assessment methods (interviews, focus groups discussions…) in camps and in host community through immediate translation / direct information gathering
Assignment 5: Assist in Ensuring Program Communication
- Develop communication tools to explain ACF program to stakeholders
Assignment 6: Set up, implement and report on FSL project.
- Supervising his/her programs, by means of internal APR monitoring tools, regular presence in the field, maintenance of a timeline, monthly review of the budget
- Take part in the monthly budgetary monitoring exercise, and request it if it has not been undertaken
- Engage in the planning of needs and resources with the Logistic and Finance Departments
Assignment 7: Respond to ACF FSL needs and priorities
- According to the needs defined by the FSL department, respond and facilitate
- Be flexible according to ACF priorities, especially regarding the returnees and IDPs needs
Qualifications
Qualification/Degree: |
Bachelor’s Degree minimum required or equivalent University Degree in Project or Program Management and Development or Equivalent |
Professional Experience |
Minimum 3 year of professional experience on a similar program management position with an international NGO Team Management and team supervision experience required Training experience an asset |
Technical/Speciliazed Skills |
Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian crises issues Command of project cycle management Advanced skills in at least one of the key FSL areas: Socio-economy (income generating activity, support for agricultural cooperatives, vocational training), food assistance (money, coupon, food aid), food and nutrition surveillance, natural resources management/ environment Complementary skills in: community approach and logistical and administrative procedures considered an asset |
