SCOPE AND NATURE OF THE SERVICES:

The Data Scientist for Data restructure will provide a back-end restructuring of existing data, to allow health teams to preserve current data entry practices, and allow RI global staff to create aggregated data visuals needed for tracking and analysis.

Deliverables:

  • Develop a back-end automation process to restructure quarterly data entry and combine these data from several Excel files into one useable data set. The freelancer is welcome to propose their own solutions for this. Possible solutions include writing Excel VBA macros and/or using Power Query and/or Python.
  • The result should be a long-form, tidy dataset that can be updated with new data entry on a quarterly basis (through the back-end automated process) in a structure conducive to data analysis and visualization (i.e. in PowerBI).
  • Develop and provide clear, user-friendly instructions for using the macro / code or other solution.
  • Level of effort should require 1-2 days of work

Technical Experience and Skills required for the role

  • Expert Excel skills
  • Proven data automation experience with Excel VBA Macros and/or Power Query and/or Python
  • Ability to effectively convey data processes to non-data professionals
  • Data visualization experience (especially Power BI) preferred
