Created in 1993, ACTED is an international non-governmental organization pursuing a dual mandate of emergency response and development interventions in 40 of some of the world’s most vulnerable countries affected by conflicts, disasters or socio-economic hardship. ACTED HQ

Composed of 120 staff, ACTED’s headquarters are located in Paris to support and mainstream the organization’s interventions worldwide.

You will be in charge of

Under the supervision of the Projects Communication Officer, the Projects Communication Intern supports the Grant Management Unit’s functioning, in liaison with project development field teams, to increase the visibility of ACTED’s programmes and projects in line with donor requirements. The Projects Communication Intern contributes to the collection, editing and publication of project-related communication materials and provides support to the field teams as needed. The Projects Communication Intern also supports joint communication initiatives with the Communication and Information Department.

Support to country and project-related communication and visibility

    1. Assist the Project Communication Officer in developing tools that will support the Project Development Department at field level (templates, guidance notes etc.) and contribute to communication trainings
    2. Ensure that resources are properly filed and accessible to all field teams
    3. Review, edit and publish articles and other communication products on ACTED website
    4. Prepare social media posts on projects (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
    5. Contribute to the identification of donor’s communication and visibility (C&V) guidelines and procedures; provide support to field teams to develop appropriate communication plans and strategies (including corresponding budgets)
    6. Review C&V sections in proposals, grants agreements, reports to ensure that donor expectations are met, in line with ACTED’s procedures and policies
    7. Support regular follow up with field missions on their communication activities and obligations; review of the mission communication monitoring tool (CRFU)

Support to communication activities in collaboration with the Communication and Information department

    1. Identify project/programme content that can be used for ACTED’s global communication
    2. Support the development and editing of ACTED’s annual report
    3. Contribute to communication activities, such as events and forums as needed

Other

    1. Undertake other tasks as requested by the Project Communication Officer or Grant Management Director

Expected skills and qualifications

  • Postgraduate diploma in communication, marketing, journalism, international relations or in relation with the position;
  • Essential computer skills: powerpoint, word, excel. Experience in video editing, web cms and marketing tools is desirable;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and French (Spanish is a plus).
  • Experience working with social media (twitter, instagram, facebook, linkedin)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment;
  • Strong interest and involvement in humanitarian and/or development sectors

Conditions

  • Monthly salary (legal minimum amount) : 1000€ nets
  • Food Vouchers (9€)
  • 50% of transportation costs (Navigo pass) taken in charge
