About The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen in the financial reporting team. The successful candidate will play a key role in building out processes, controls and best practice in a growing finance team. Initially a contract role but with opportunities likely to arise as the company and team continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end accounting close and preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for the overall general ledger and preparation of underlying reconciliations for profit and loss, and balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, prepayments, and the associated depreciation and amortisation schedules
  • Assist with financial audit processes and associated compliance across multiple subsidiaries of the business
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
  • Ensuring Accounting Standards are adhered to and kept abreast of new standard changes that applies to role
  • Assist with creation and implementation of new processes, systems policies and other system rollouts
  • Working with the broader finance team to identify process improvements, and updating or developing formalized accounting policies and standard operating procedures as required
  • Assist with ad hoc M&A activities and other commercial reporting and projects

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business/Commerce degree, holder or holder- in-progress of Chartered Accountancy or Certified Practicing Accountants preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior work experience in Commercial environment preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient with excel and use of financial accounting systems
  • Comfortable with foreign exchange movements and analysis
  • Can demonstrate experience in financial reporting consolidation and intercompany
  • Attention to detail, organized and structured
  • Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders
  • An independent worker and team player
  • Big 4 or chartered experience would be beneficial
