Job summary:

The Financial Specialist supports the Finance Department in all accounting related duties and issues with analyzing of numerical and verbal data and all other sources of information. Furthermore he/she acts as the deputy for the Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as the Financial Controller’s deputy
  • Support all departments for accounting related duties and issues with analyzing of numerical and verbal data and all other sources of information.
  • Support the Finance Department during the monthly internal and external reporting with analyzing of numerical and verbal data and all other sources of information
  • Render a very active contribution for the financial support for the business (Senior Management), Finance Shared Service (FSS), Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) with necessary ad hoc requests
  • Coordinate accounting SAP processes (OTC, PTP, RTR, expenses (CTE), etc) within the affiliate Support for processing of invoices and payments
  • Support CTE submissions, answer questions to BPO, support for all users
  • Initiate master data changes for the chart of accounts, cost centers, internal orders and communicate within AbbVie to execute the changes
  • Ability to take over the local point role of SAP within the affiliate (Super User of SAP in all areas)
  • Training of all new employees for accounting in SAP
  • Monthly processing incl. month end close collaboration with the Finance Shared Service Team

Qualifications and experience:

  • University degree or higher Certificate in Finance or Accounting (Berufsprüfung für Buchhalter o.ä.) preferred
  • Progressive experience in accounting, planning and financial analysis preferred
  • Sound knowledge of Swiss company law
  • Good knowledge of local GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
  • Superuser level for IT systems like Microsoft Office, SAP
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
  • High level of self-motivation with great follow-up skills and be able to work independently
  • Good organizational skills required to coordinate and manage multiple cross divisional work process and projects
  • Business fluent in German and English, French is an asset
