The position is open to Ukranian nationals only and to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. The employment location will be Poltava, Ukraine.

Alliance15 members Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Concern Worldwide and Cesvi are working together in Ukraine using their combined resources and reach, to ensure a quick and effective emergency response to assist the crisis-affected population. This response, known as JERU (Joint Emergency Response Ukraine), is working inside of Ukraine to support conflict affected communities.

As a Finance Officer Eastern Ukraine for our JERU (Joint Emergency Response Ukraine) response, your aim will be to provide financial administrative support to projects/programmes in Poltava, Ukraine.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure that the project funds are correctly managed according to the specifications of Welthungerhilfe and co-financers (liquidity planning, funds requests, bank transactions, bookkeeping, preparing end-of-month accounts, prompt financial reports)
  • Ensure that documentation of data, account assignment, and bookkeeping entries are carried out correctly in bookkeeping software
  • Ensure costs are cleared internally within a project or between projects (correct allocation of costs)
  • Prepare documentation that the Head of Project and/or PPO can assume budgetary responsibility
  • Prepare annual account documents in cooperation with the Head of Project and Head of Finance in the Country Office
  • Prepare refunds/returns/final fund requests to donors
  • Instruct, advise, and supervise local administrative staff
  • Support PO to implement the project according to the co-financing agreement and Welthungerhilfe standards

Your profile

  • Professional qualification/formal commercial training with additional qualification commercial training and several years of professional experience
  • 3-5 job-related professional experiences in the field of finance
  • Strong MS Teams skills
  • Willingness to travel within Ukraine
  • Fluency in Ukrainian
  • Russian and or English language skills are an asset
