Become part of our seven-person finance team! As finance manager you are responsible for the proper handling of the project finances and contact person for our national and international colleagues. You will play a key role in regular financial controlling and drive the development and optimization of our financial management forward. You report to the Head of Finance and represent forumZFD in relevant committees.

The place of work is the head office of forumZFD in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.

  • Flexible working time without core working hours
  • Remote work, in agreement with the team up to 80% of the monthly working time
  • Negotiable weekly working hours: 32-40 hours (80-100%)
  • Six weeks annual vacation
  • Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and Carnival Monday are extra holidays

Your new role

  • You prepare reports on the use of funds and financial reports for publicly funded projects.
  • You will ensure that we comply with the requirements of the BHO and ANBest-P when spending our third-party funds.
  • You will work on regular financial controlling in Cologne and in our international program offices.
  • You check and process invoices for our publicly funded projects.
  • You pass on your knowledge, accompany and train your colleagues in all questions of financial management.

What we are looking for

  • Completed business studies with a focus on finance/controlling or specialized vocational training with proven knowledge in the areas of finance/controlling (e.g. as a business economist or administrative specialist).
  • Knowledge of the guidelines of public donors, especially with regard to the accounting of BMZ/ZFD funds, is an advantage
  • Very good IT skills (Office applications, financial software)
  • Ideally, project-relevant professional experience in the NGO sector
  • Willingness to travel worldwide to all our project countries
  • You are resilient and self-confident, can work in a structured manner and have excellent communication skills
  • You are passionate about numbers and have strong analytical skills
  • You are curious, want to develop personally as well as professionally and it is important to you to work independently and to take on responsibility
  • You like to work in a team, are reliable and like to pass on your knowledge to others
  • You keep calm even in stressful situations
  • You feel confident in the German and English language and like to communicate with your international colleagues via different channels

forumZFD supports people involved in violent conflicts on the path to peace and strives to help overcome war and violence.

forumZFD is currently working with peace consultants in Germany and twelve other countries in Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Its Academy for Conflict Transformation offers a learning space for professional, international peace work. Through dialogue events, educational work and campaigns, forumZFD actively advocates a civil peace policy.

forumZFD is recognised by the German federal government as a member of the Civil Peace Service (CPS) Consortium. It finances its work through public and private grants, donations and membership fees.
