Finance Manager, Ukraine

The total starting salary package for this position is £56,032 GBP per annum (approx. $69,439 USD) per annum (including basic salary, and all allowances)

About the Ukraine Programme:

Since the Russian invasion of 24th February 2022, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery bombardment, missiles and air strikes, as well as the use of landmines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response. MAG responded to the crisis in 2022 and is now in a dynamic scale up phase having secured funding for 2023/24 and is conducting explosive ordnance risk education and recruiting multiple demining teams. The programme has representation in Kyiv and Kropyvnytski.

About the role:

The Country Finance Manager will be a member of the programme’s Senior Management Team, and will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, from day-to-day financial management such as cashbooks, payroll and cash flow; to strategic financial analysis, budget forecasting, business planning and risk management.

About you:

You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc) or have similar calibre academic or professional qualifications. You should have progressive and relevant experience in financial management role, managing large and complex budgets. You will also have significant international experience, ideally having worked previously for an international organisation or NGO. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of donor budgeting, reporting requirements and experience of formulating grant proposals. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to report in a timely and accurate manner, the ability to work independently and build excellent working relationships with project stakeholders. You must be self-motivated, with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, and able to work well under pressure with limited supervision in a fast paced environment. You will also need experience of providing strategic and operational financial leadership. Finally, the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in complex political and volatile security contexts.
