Position Title: Finance Intern (National)

Department: Finance

Supervisor: Finance Officers

Key Responsibilities

  • Receipt of all paid documents, recording, stamping, and reviewing of completion of documents.
  • Scanning finance documents and submitting for review by Finance Officer
  • Maintain adequate filing system of all financial documents.
  • Proper maintenance and cleanliness of the finance archive room.
  • Timely retrieval of documents for audit assignments, recording them and ensuring they are returned to archives properly.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant books of accounts.
  • Assist in performing monthly bank reconciliation of organizational bank accounts.
  • Ensure that statutory deductions are paid to relevant authorities on time to avoid any penalties.
  • Assist in the preparation of both monthly and other financial reports as requested.
  • Processing payments and ensure all cheques and receipts are kept and signed by the recipient.
  • Prepare Payment cheque/Transfers and copies of approved payment vouchers are attached to the related documents, ensuring that they are stamped “PAID’’ before scanning them.
  • Support the Finance Officer in updating project journals as per the Finance calendar
  • Support the Finance Officer in liaison with Logistics department, prepare commitments lists every month for financial obligations already entered but not captured in financial reports.
  • Ensure all payment requests are properly recorded to Finance books.
  • Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Finance team.

Qualifications and Competencies

a) Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related studies from a recognized institution.

b) This is an entry level position hence no experience is required.

c) High confidentiality to any finance documents.

d) Good command of English both oral and written.

e) Good interpersonal and communication skills.

f) Good planning and organization skills.

g) Good working experience in MS Office suite.

h) Willingness to learn and take initiatives.

i) Ability to multitask on demanding roles and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

j) Ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment and work well in a team.

k) Commitment to RK’s safeguarding and other policies on child protection.
