
Assistance Coordination Unit
Job Purpose
To be the focal point of contact with donors. The responsibility for the financial and compliance side of the programs from the budgeting phase, tracking & monitor the project implementation (payments and documentation), till reporting and close the program financially.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of the grant budget/spending & procurement plans.
- To be the budget holder of the grant; ensuring the procurement and recruitment are in line with the budget and in accordance with donor regulations.
- Oversee and monitor the transactions and expenditures related to the program/grant. And,
- Ensure all transactions are in compliance with ACU policies and donor regulations and in line with grant budget.
- Lead the preparation of the grant financial reports (TJ, Ledgers, BvA, … Etc.) as required by the grant agreement and by Finance/Grants Manager.
- Conduct regular meetings with donors; discuss any over/under budget lines and over/under spend lines, and suggest any needed modifications or reallocation between the budget lines.
- Ensure the availability and accessibility of the backup documentation in both hard & soft copies.
- Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring the smooth completion of work responsibilities
- Work with the finance team in the reconciliation of grant payments, records, and grant bank/cash balance.
- Work closely with the auditors to ensure a smooth of the audit process by providing any required documentation, justifications, and information and to clear any comments.
- Work with the programs team, finance team, and grants team to develop, write, and submit proposals and budgets.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience/Languages)
1. Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration) or any related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in grants/finance
- English Language Advanced Level.
- Arabic Language Native.
2. Desirable:
- Master’s degree in Economics(Finance, Accounting, Business Administration) or any related field.
- Turkish Langauge Intermediate Level.
- Turkish Nationality is desirable.
