About the Job:
Reporting to the CEO, the role provides strategic leadership and direction to FoodCloud across its charitable activities, with a particular focus on finance, governance, risk management, commercial and impact activities. The role involves engagement with the Board of Directors, sub-committees, regulators, legal advisors, and external auditors. Must be self-motivated and a team player.
Key Duties:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s business strategy.
- Lead and manage the Finance team consisting of a financial accountant and two part-time assistants. Liaise with and support the office manager on matters that arise to ensure the smooth running of the office.
- Own the preparation and management of financial multi-year budgets together with the delivery of core financial and business KPIs and submit for Board approval.
- Review draft monthly management accounts, perform analytical review prior to issuing the accounts and financial metrics to the senior management team and Finance Committee on working day 6. Monitor and report performance against budget of all income and costs lines, highlight challenges and agree steps to deliver budgeted results.
- Submit annual accounts in compliance with Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for annual audit, liaise with external auditors and issue a consolidated financial and impact annual report to agreed timelines.
- Be an ambassador for good governance and manage the timely review and approval process of all company policies and Charity Regulators Compliance Record Form.
- Liaise with the Development Team on the fundraising pipeline, ensure all fundraising income is correctly classified (SORP requirements) and that adequate financial records are maintained to meet funding conditions and audit requirements.
- Deliver financial support for the European Support Plus programme and the Community Support Programme. The ESF+ Food Support programme requires tenders on a 4-year cycle, annual budgets, and submit reconciliations to the Implementation Authority.
- Support on commercial, compliance, HR and legal issues as required.
- Ad hoc projects when required.
- Additional duties as required per business needs
Qualifications and Skills:
- A qualified accountant with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience at FD level.
- Strong IT, analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Ability to work through detail but also to focus on the bigger picture.
