JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Finance Coordinator.

Project / Department Title: Finance.

Direct supervisor / Reports to: Financial Manager.

Overall Objective:

To provide and ensure consistent, timely, and accurate financial management and administration of the organization’s finances, financial systems, processes, and records in order to meet the organization’s financial goals. To assist in ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulatory, policy, and legal requirements, and to assist in securing and maintaining the long-term financial viability and stability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Making accurate entries in the accounting system to maintain an accurate filing and coordinate all financial processes of sub-offices including general ledgers, internal accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, statutory remittances, budget monitoring, and other financial processes as required.
  • Monitor and record cash disbursements, expenditures, and receipts of the organization, ensuring timely, effective, and accurate record-keeping and ensure availability and timely providing the cash in the sub-offices to implement project activities.
  • Managing and Assigning tasks to his/her subordinates then ensuring timely completion of the assigned tasks reviewing and approving their outputs to make sure that they are accurate and standardized.
  • Coordinates with other finance staff and staff from other departments preparing cash flow forecasts for every project and follow-up project payments including accruals and advises the programs and operations department on all budgetary and financial matters.
  • To provide support in budget preparation, amendment, and finalization of the tracking project budget during all project phases.
  • Review and approve payment orders to vendors and money transfer request to sub-offices and ensure availability and timely providing the cash in the sub-offices to implement project activities.
  • Prepare and submit the monthly and final financial reports for each project on time according to donor requirements.
  • Perform month-end and year-end procedures including, but not limited to preparing all month-end reconciliations and year-end working papers for the organization’s annual audit.
  • Ensure timely and accurate adherence to all internal policies and procedures, local laws and regulations, and all donor compliance rules.
  • Coordinate and assist the external auditors during their audit fieldwork. Ensure that all audited financial statement deadlines are met.
  • Supervise and train his/her subordinates in Turkey and in sub-offices and share his experience in improving the financial department capacity.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the Organization’s financial business and other private information and records.
  • Support Finance Manager and executives with projects and tasks when required.
  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • BSc. degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

Abilities:

  • Sharp time management skills.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations in turkey.
  • The ability to work in a systematic and organized manner.
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint in a professional way.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.

Experiences:

  • Work experience in the Finance Sector for at least 10 years.
  • Work experience in NGO’s finance staff sector for at least 3 years.
  • Work experience as a Finance Coordinator or higher position for at least 1 year.
  • Experience using financial software.
  • Proven administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain accurate records.

Physical and personality traits required:

  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure
  • Capable of working collaboratively with team members to achieve objectives.
