Job Overview: The Finance Coordinator manages the budget and cost allocation of different awards/grants. The incumbent will work very closely with the IRC offices and coordinates with the Roving Finance Officer and Finance Coordinator Partners to ensure allowable costs are charged on the federal awards. This includes running BvAs (Budget vs. Actuals), monitoring expenditure trends, developing matrices to flag inconsistencies, and following through to have those corrected on time. The Finance Coordinator will be further developing new budgets and revising existing budgets including the budget narrative. The position will be reporting to the Deputy Director Resettlement Budget.

Major Responsibilities

  • Closely monitors expenditure trends and works with the relevant parties to have corrections posted on time.
  • Updates BvA (Budget vs. Actuals) reports frequently and flags variations.
  • Processes donor funding obligations and updates the system to reflect revised allocations.
  • Conducts regular BvA meetings to ensure relevant stakeholders are informed of their budget standing.
  • Develops new budgets and revises existing budgets including the budget narrative.
  • Ensure the latest budget details are registered in the system.
  • Where needed, compiles and finalizes corrections for the HQ cost center.
  • Other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy Director Resettlement Budget.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics; advanced degree and/or relevant certifications are preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience in managing budgets and spending in refugee resettlement field; demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the US resettlement program.
  • Advanced computer skills: Advanced knowledge of all MS Office applications (especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint); experience with cloud-based planning tools, PowerBi and ERP (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics) systems is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and Excellent presentation skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and partners.
  • Multi-cultural sensitivity and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines; exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment; aptitude for ongoing learning and adjusting to frequent changes in processes.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
