About the WSA:

WSA is a humanitarian, developmental, non-governmental organization that was established in 2013 and officially licensed in Turkey in 2015.

All projects implemented by the WSA inside Syria aim to build a better life for women and empower Syrian women so that they can face problems and challenges in a way that preserves their dignity and respect.

Work overview:

Under the supervision of the Finance Officer technically and the field supervisor administratively, the Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with budgeting and reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in thepreparation and monitoring of project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
  • Process financial transactions such as payments, receipts, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Maintain and update financial records, including data entry into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Finance Manager in conducting financial audits and assessments.
  • Collaborate with the program teams to ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses to relevant projects.
  • Assist in compliance with local financial regulations and organizational policies.
  • Assist in grant management, including tracking expenses and reporting on financial progress to donors.
  • Assist in payroll preparation and related documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.

Professional Qualifications:

  • 3 years of work experience in the humanitarian field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Academic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Personal skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
  • Basic understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is preferable.
