General Description of the Organization
Ghiras Al-Nahda is a Nonprofit Non-governmental humanitarian organization working to empower people through fulfilling their basic needs and seeking to improve community stability and resilience.
Job purpose:
This role sits within the Finance team with close coordination with all departments in GAN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Process invoices, payment requests, and expense claims.
- Entering transactions into the accounting system.
- Manage petty cash, including reconciling and replenishing as necessary.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including the filing and archiving of financial documents.
- Assist in the preparation of donor reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and regulations.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and cash balances.
- Assist in the annual audit process and liaise with auditors as required.
- Support the finance team with other tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in NGOs
- At least 2 years of experience in finance or accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting software, preferably (Al-Ameen +QuickBooks)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, especially for daily follow up.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Fluency in Arabic is a must Turkish language is a plus).
- Turkish Nationality is preferred.
