Job Overview/Summary: The Finance Coordinator works closely with the Finance Manager to achieve high-quality and compliant finance and administrative support for the TXOR West team by accurately controlling and managing the implementation of accounting systems and processes. The Finance Coordinator is expected to offer support in providing internal stakeholders as well as donors, grantors, creditors, and other external stakeholders with timely, and accurate financial information and reports. NOTE: The Finance Coordinator position is eligible for full remote work therefore candidates from ANY location in the U.S. will be considered.

Major Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Assist Finance Manager in ensuring office compliance with IRC’s accounting policies vis-à-vis fund accounting as noted in IRC’s finance manual and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Review accounting transactions to ensure proper coding and record transactions within IRC’s accounting software Integra (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
    • Review, and approve journal entries/invoice journals in IRC’s accounting software, including staff expense management reports/reimbursements and payroll
    • Void/reclass transactions/invoice journals as requested/needed
    • Prepare and submit all vendor payment journals in Integra
  • Load, revise and maintain program budgets into Integra (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
    • Track, record and report all expenditures for grants
  • Support Monthly Financial Activities
    • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports as needed
    • Assist Finance Manager in monthly bank reconciliation
    • Assist Finance Manager on monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Coordination:

  • Assist Finance Manager in facilitating external and internal audits as needed; assist in preparing all documents/samples requested by external auditors
  • Assist Finance Manager in the financial monitoring and evaluation of internal and external partner organizations
  • Assist the Finance Manager in providing clear and transparent guidance to programs on their respective projects, grants and contracts
  • Assist the Finance Manager in providing finance/accounting-specific training for All-Staff and external partners as needed
  • Effectively communicate financial topics and facilitate discussions with non-finance staff
  • Attend all finance related trainings for respective partner organizations
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative:

  • Assist director in planning staff travel including lodging needs.
  • Assist director in planning in-person convenings including agenda creation and meeting logistics.
  • Responsible for office inventory and asset tracking and reporting
  • Represent TXOR West as the point of contact for HQ related communication such as safety and security; HR Focal point, etc.

Job Requirements:

Education and experience:

  • Relevant four (4) year degree and two (2) years of experience working in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or administrative support preferably in a non-profit setting

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, and integrity as defined in the IRC Way
  • Solid computer-based accounting skills, including spreadsheets and other financial-related software programs
  • Proficient in general office software programs like MS Word, Excel, email, and the internet
  • Proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

Working Environment:

  • Standard work environment. Expectation to travel within local community for partner meetings and events. Oversight of staff in remote field sites. Expectation to occasionally travel and participate in meetings throughout the West Texas region and/or statewide.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
