Field Service Technician – Wind Industry

We are looking for committed service technicians for the Vaasa region at Merkkikallio windfarm, who loves personal and technical challenges . Your role and focus area will be to maintain, to service and if needed to troubleshoot turbines. To fit in as a technician you should have a background as an electrical/mechanical technician with equivalent experience in reading an electrical/hydraulic schematics and be comfortable with mechanical drawings.

The scope of work is dynamic and will require your best critical thinking to finding different solutions to complex problems. Your daily assignment can range from changing a fuse to replacing a motor or refilling grease.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• You will carry out maintenance, service and repair work on wind turbines.
• Your day-to-day activities will differ and could include electrical work, mechanical work, maintenance work and reporting.
• You will work independently and in small teams on troubleshooting and the intensive optimization of plant operation with regards to performance and running behaviour as well as technical availability
• You like working dynamically with your colleague or team to brainstorm solutions and like to express your ideas.
• In everything you do, you adhere to the GE safety guidelines, statutory occupational safety regulations and trade association regulations
• You appreciate and offer personal flexibility and are also ready to be on call on weekends and public holidays

Qualifications/Requirements

• Completed vocational training as an electrician or equivalent experience / knowledge
• Ability to work dynamically in a team and an interest in personal and professional development
• Flexibility, resilience and motivation as well as willingness to travel (at home and abroad)
• Pronounced awareness of safety, quality and responsibility.
• Ability to work at heights (certification will be taken at GE if not already available)
• Fluent knowledge of English and preferably Finnish and a class driving license for car and trailer (B or B+E driver license)
• You already live in the region or are willing to relocate closer to the site, or willing to work on a rotational model.
• You are a person that enjoy to have fun and spread a positive energy to the rest of the team
