Primary Job Function

The Field Sales Manager is responsible for the direct management of the Primary Care (GP, pharmacy, occupational health) Sales Representatives of Switzerland. Besides this task you will overlook directly and extend the designated sales region (ZH and surrounding). You will lead and coach the sales team to maintain and develop existing accounts, improve relationships and develop new customer groups. The ARDx Team Lead Sales is responsible for the direct management of the Primary Sales Team Switzerland and looks after and extends an assigned region himself. In this role, you will lead and coach the sales team to maintain and develop existing accounts to improve relationships with customers and develop new sales targets. A key goal of the position is to increases customer-specific profitability and customer satisfaction. By observing and analyzing the market as well as trends in the area, new innovative sales concepts are to be created. The function works closely with the Country Manager to strengthen the position and market penetration of Abbott Rapid Diagnostics in Switzerland.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • You will lead the primary care sales team and sell our point-of-care rapid tests (CM and ID) in the assigned area with a focus on Afinion 2 in the areas of diabetology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases as well as infectious diseases
  • Together with the sales team, you will advise our current and future customers on the implementation of point-of-care rapid diagnostics in treatment
  • You will analyze and define customer and market potential in the Swiss sales area, in close cooperation with the Country Manager
  • You will manage the sales area Switzerland (including the direct management of the directly assigned area) and are maintaining relationships with opinion leaders to get insights in the development of market trends
  • You will design and or optimize sales processes in line with the market needs and implement them to achieve sales goals
  • Together with the country manager and the sales team, you will develop commercial models and are part of the implementation
  • You will train and support the customers in developing and optimizing their business processes
  • You will be continuously following trainings in the field of point of care diagnostics

Minimum Education

  • A bachelor’s degree or a comparable level of experience (e.g. medical training) is required. A bachelor’s degree in biomedicine, medical technology or in the commercial sector or training as an MTA are preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training Required

  • You have already worked successfully in a management position in sales in the medical technology, diagnostics, life science or pharmaceuticals sector
  • Ideally, you have experience in the field of diabetology and the processes in a specialized diabetology practice
  • We are looking for an analytically thinking personality who can organize himself very well, has excellent communication skills and pursues his goals with vigor and perseverance
  • You enjoy the leadership and development of the employees and they have an infectious motivational power to conquer the market
  • A pronounced willingness to travel within Switzerland, proven IT user skills and very good German and English skills are required
  • High service and customer orientation
  • Pronounced strengths in the areas of analysis, conceptual thinking and structured planning
  • Enjoy innovation and creativity to develop new sales models. Team orientation and good communication skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a positive approach to change
  • Business fluent German, French and Italian
  • Very good command of English
  • Use of computerized system for tracking and information gathering related to order management
