Project Objective:
Under the Asia Learning Monitoring and Evaluation (ALME) program, the USAID/Sri Lanka������ Mission has requested Social Impact to complete a performance evaluation of a youth development program in Sri Lanka. The Analysis evaluation will be used to inform USAID���������s youth development programming in Sri Lanka.������
Position Description:
Social Impact is seeking multiple Field Researchers / Local Youth Specialists for this performance evaluation. The Youth Specialist will be responsible for supporti youth and political issues at all stages of the evaluation as well as conducting data collection with local stakeholders. This is a part-time consulting position.
**Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Sri Lankan citizenship will be considered.**
Responsibilities:
Advise and provide technical assistance during the evaluation in youth development, economic growth, youth populations, workforce development, and gender.������
Provide guidance and advice to the team on site selection for data collection as well as contributing general knowledge and expertise about gender and youth in Sri Lanka.������
Meet with the SI evaluation team at the designated sites at the times communicated by the Team Leader.������
Contribute to the draft and final reports as well as any other deliverables as determined by the Team Leader.������
Review the evaluation work plan, data collection tools, and other relevant documents as instructed in order to become familiar with the evaluation program.������
Support S collection during fieldwork, including notetaking and team debriefs.������
Contribute to preliminary data analysis and note synthesis as required. Data will be in the form of qualitative notes and transcripts, quantitative data, and relevant secondary data reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor���������s degree in development studies, social work, social science, or other relevant degree, with five years of relevant work experience, or a master���������s degree with three years of relevant work experience.
Extensive experience in youth development or youth programming, including understanding of youth cohorts that may be at risk for exclusion from development interventions.
Awareness of youth issues in the Sri Lankan context, including youth norms and how gender interacts with other identity elements.
Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection including key informant interviews (KIIs), focus group discussions (FGDs), surveys, etc.
Understanding of the Sri Lankan country and political condevelopment challenges.
Strong oral and written English communication skills.
