About SENED

Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with No. 27-15-175; It arose in response to the suffering of Syrian refugees in Turkey & internally displaced persons in Syria as a result of the war waged by the Syrian regime on its own people and torn apart the entire country. Sened works through the humanitarian work sectors to empower persons with disabilities, their families and communities, advocate for their issues and include their voice in their communities. Sened has become a specialized NGO in the field of working with persons with disabilities and their families since 2015. It takes the aspirations of the founders, persons with disabilities and their families, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as a compass for its work.

Project Description:

The recent earthquakes in 11 provinces of Turkey have caused major displacement and discomfort in the lives of millions of residents. This has resulted in an emergency response to help meet basic and urgent needs of the affected people. A distribution activity has therefore been set up to deliver emergency aid to those in need and affected by the earthquake within the scope of the project.
Field Assistant will work with the Field officer to ensure distribution activities are implemented with the required quality and on the required time.

Job Purpose:

The field Officer will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that Project activities and outputs are implemented with the required quality and delivered in a timely, in accordance with the implementation plan, and ensuring to project objectives are met. This includes working with the project field team to conduct field assessments, market price assessments, engage with local communities, verify the needs, and prepare required field reports.

Key Activities/Tasks/Duties

  • Support project team to conduct community mobilization, sensitization, and selection/verification of project beneficiaries based on pre-set criteria.
  • Work closely with the communities to ensure effective coordination and ensure the most vulnerable people are selected.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager, assistants, and MEAL staff to design community mobilization strategy, and project implementation plans.
  • Regular field visits and provision of supervision and support.
  • Responsible for compilation of information on project implementation and reporting to project manager on regular basis.
  • Ensure alignment of project activities to project design and is consistent across project locations.
  • Ensure readiness of all preparations for distribution
  • Prepare and produce periodical project progress reports as required by the management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Ensure that project target beneficiaries are most in need, and services are properly delivered.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
  • Develop project implementation work plans and ensure the effective & efficient implementation of project activities as per the pre-designed work plans.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the project manager.

Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a similar Advanced skills in Turkish language.
  • Intermediate skills in the Arabic and English language.
  • Turkish Nationality is a must.

Desirable

  • Certified PMD Pro1 & PMD Pro 2.
  • Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Verified experience in dealing with donor’s policies, procedures, requirements and compliance.
