Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a Christian not-for-profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. It is a Registered Trust of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is being a reliable supply chain for quality and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health Advisory Services. MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread all over Kenya and other regions both in Africa and beyond.

The position will report to the Sales & Marketing Manager and will be responsible for providing sales and marketing of medical equipment, installation and preventative maintenance of medical equipment interpretation of medical equipment specifications and quotation to the clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out quotation for medical equipment and follow up on quote conversion
  • Install and service medical equipment and devices
  • Carry out calibration and preventive maintenance for medical equipment
  • Develop and maintain medical equipment partnerships and agencies
  • Schedule field visits and offer technical support for the medical equipment in the installed sites.
  • Provide technical interpretation of the medical equipment specifications.
  • Participate in Technical Evaluation of medical equipment projects.
  • Conduct market intelligence for benchmarking on pricing, quality and client preference of medical equipment.
  • Develop and implement business plan to grow business from medical equipment business unit.

Job requirements:

  1. Business related Degree qualification with diploma in medical engineering or Higher National diploma in medical engineering or biomedical engineering specializing in Diagnostic/Clinical equipment, Therapeutic equipment or Dialysis equipment.

  2. Functional skills: competencies in Medical equipment installation and preventive maintenance, customer services, negotiations skills, sales and marketing and holder of valid driving licence

  3. At least three years’ work experience with at least two years’ technical sales of medical equipment, instruments and devices.

  4. Behavioural competencies and attitude: High level of integrity, interpersonal relations, self-driven, business acumen
