General Description of the Organization:

Orange collaborates with variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives to adopt community-based approach that leads to improve the response’s impact to the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this position is to manage, account, monitor, all payments, and other relevant finance matters in relation to Orange activities for day to day updating, and ensuring proper systems and that procedures are being followed. He/she will be responsible for all orange accounting activities inside Syria.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  • Maintain all the bank and cashbooks related to Orange and do their reconciliations on a timely basis for Syria Office.
  • To assist and advice Orange office in Syria with recording expenses and maintaining finance books.
  • To assist and advice Orange staff getting familiarized with systems and procedures.
  • Ensure all purchases have been made following Orange purchasing procedures and have all relevant supporting documentation attached to payment requisition
  • Prepare weekly cash report & submit to the Director for review.
  • To ensure that cash books and supporting documents at month end are submitted on a timely basis.
  • Keep the Director updated on your work progress throughout the month, and bring all major finance issues to his or her attention;
  • To work closely with Finance Coordinator inside Syria and other team members

Requirements:

  • Finance qualification preferably with a professional accountancy qualification in progress orِ copmleted
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload in a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Excellent Microsoft excel experience, and knowledge of Sag or other accountancy packages.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in accountancy.
  • A flexible approach to work and willingness to take on extra duties, work additional hours or on weekends as required.
  • Willingness to learn and to take on extra duties as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Trustworthy and honest; and bility to write, speak and work in English (intermediate).
  • Diplomacy and negotiation skills.
