The Field Finance Manager is responsible for oversight of the regional finance specialists, ensuring the documents, policies, procedures, controls, and reporting for each field office are in line with compliance requirements and for the purpose of supporting IRI’s programs.

Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting

· Ability to lead, work independently, and within a team across the organization.

· Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills.

  • Experience working with accounting and ERP systems (including Cost Point, Cognos, Quicken, QuickBooks, Concur).
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal government circulars 2 CFR 200
  • Innovative, creative, enthusiastic approaches to overall work.
  • Ability to be detail-orientated and highly organized
  • Commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to travel internationally

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

· Manages all aspects of field accounting, including liability account, cash account, and advance account reconciliations, field office payroll, cash transfers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for all field offices.

· Manages the regional finance team to ensure regional finance specialists and local accountants are providing timely, collaborative, service-oriented support to all staff on all financial matters.

· Trains local and regional finance specialists on accounting policies and procedures.

· Identifies and documents financial issues.

· Travels overseas to conduct on-site financial reviews of offices.

· Ensures that internal controls are appropriately in place and fairly applied.

· Working with the Director of Finance, participates in the full integration and implementation of any new software, policies, or practices.

· Provides positive, results-oriented leadership on projects as necessary and as required/assigned.

· Serves as a resource for staff in planning for opening and closing programs and offices.

· Stays up-to-date on accounting and compliance regulations, practices and trends, including industry best practices for non-profits.

· Participates in the hiring of local accountants, coordinating with program staff to identify, hire and retain the appropriate talent.

· Establishes a collaborative, service-oriented work environment between financial and program staff.

· Reviews documentation during IRI external audits and liaises with auditors as necessary.

Performs other accounting tasks as assigned or deemed necessary
