The SRC is supporting the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in its humanitarian response in Ukraine. In order to lead the SRC’s sub-delegation in western Ukraine and its collaboration with Red Cross branches in Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions, we are looking for a Field Delegate based in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.
What you will be doing
- Overall coordination and management of the SRC response in the two regions, ensuring performance and accountability for positive outcomes at all levels (partnerships, operations, systems and capacities)
- Participatory facilitation of planning, implementation and monitoring processes with the URCS branches and counterparts in Kyiv, and coordination with authorities, donor organizations and other relevant stakeholders (different Red Cross/Red Crescent actors, UN agencies, international/national NGOs, etc.)
- Coordination with the Country Coordinator and Headquarters of SRC, its partners and donors in country, and ensuring synergies with other Red Cross programs and projects in the two regions
- Managing the SRC sub-delegation and cooperation with partners’ staff, volunteers and technical experts; coaching and empowering involved SRC team members and counterparts from the URCS, civil society and government institutions towards sustainable achievement of the project goals
- Security management for the personnel and geographic area under the position’s responsibility
- Financial oversight and monitoring, supervision and reporting, and support to evaluations and audits
Your profile
- University degree in management, international cooperation, social sciences or a related discipline with min. 7 years of relevant professional experience
- Min. 5 years of experience in leading complex projects, teams and partnerships, preferably in humanitarian response or international cooperation
- Specific experience in transition countries (preferentially in Ukraine) is an asset
- Orientation towards solutions and results, along with excellent analytical and writing skills
- Strong interpersonal, intercultural, facilitation and communication skills and a participatory approach to team leadership
- Previous work experience in the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in written and spoken English (C1); knowledge of Ukrainian/Russian language is an asset What you can expect
- 12-month-contract with the option of extension, starting on 15 February 2023 or as per mutual agreement
