About the Job:

The Field Coordinator for Enterprise Development will focus on businesses health of all enterprises started in the region of operation. The Enterprise Development Coordinator is a driven, self-sufficient individual who excels at providing tailored support to struggling business and coordinating activities with the Field Associates (FAs)and Business Mentors (BMs), that focus on measurable results for increased businesses outcomes.

The Enterprise Development Field Coordinator will stir businesses success for Village Enterprise using data from the Village Enterprise Adaptive Management dashboards, additional research and partnerships that increase business owner’s potential to succeed.

Job Description

Business Development & Success

· Use Business Health Data from Village Enterprise Adaptive Management Systems to closely monitor the success of businesses across the country and region of operations.

· Proactively support Field Associates and Business Mentors in understanding the 5 key indicators that contribute to business health (green businesses) and ensure that regional teams are implementing best practices that yield expected business outcomes.

· Use bi-weekly meetings to collect, disseminate and provide targeted training and support to Field Associates and Business Mentors around best practices to achieve best results on business health.

· Spend three to four days per week in the field providing tailored support to struggling businesses, making corrective actions that help Business Groups to Bounce back to business.

· Work closely with Field Associates to ensure 100% of the grants are invested into the business and that groups are not splitting the grant but investing into shared primary Business/ businesses.

· Closely monitor dropout rates of business owners and address any challenges that may lead to business owner or business group drop out of program.

· Provide monthly report to the Enterprise and Savings Lead and the Regional Managers on intervention measures taken to get all struggling businesses back on track

· Work with the conservation lead to ensure that all businesses started are environmentally sustainable and profitable.

Organization and Coordination of Activities:

· Work closely with Field Associates in regions of operation to ensuring high-quality program implementation that results into increased business outputs and outcomes.

· Support Field Associates who are running behind schedule in monitoring Business Groups

· Coordinate with Field Associates to address challenges faced by Business Mentors during program implementation. Periodically meeting to put action plans.

· Develop a feedback program for field activities and help keep track of progress towards intended results.

· Document, shared best practices, success and lessons learned around businesses health

· Provide support in providing targeted training and refresher workshops for FAs and BMs.

· Attend all country, regional and team meetings include special projects meeting as may be required.

· Document regional business success and coordinate exchange learning visits for replication

Market Support and financial linkages

· Work closely with enterprise and savings lead to understand market opportunities in the region and support entrepreneurs to take advantage of them.

· Use VE internal data in addition to external research to recommend profitable enterprises per region.

· Work with E&SL to identify market actors in the region and foster appropriate linkages with Village Enterprise Entrepreneurs.

· In consultation with the Country Director and Regional Managers, develop and closely work with E&SL to capacity build Field Associate and Business Mentors on new trends, best practices and technologies that lead to business success.

· Document and share lessons learnt around market linkages

· Work with E&S Lead to identify opportunities for Business groups to access additional financing weather through government programs or through financial institutions.

Project support

· Work with regional teams to support different projects as will be assigned.

· Provide support on testing new ideas and assumptions as may be assigned by the supervisor or regional team.

· Support donor visits, scheduling and identifying opportunities to highlight the success or our Business owners.

Safeguarding

· Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility at VE, and it begins with me

· Continuously sensitize program participants on safeguarding.

· Ensure compliance with VE’s safeguarding policies

· Report any incident of safeguarding in program operations for appropriate action/follow up.

Qualifications

· Relevant degree in International Development, Community Engagement/ Development, Businesses Administration or an equivalent

· 3-4 years’ experience in business development and financial linkages for rural entrepreneurial initiatives will also be considered.

· A proactive work ethic with a demonstrated interest in the vision and mission of Village Enterprise.

· Excellent management and organization skills, along with keen attention to details

· Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a complex work plan with quick-moving parts

· Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse communities required

· Ability to understand and interpret data to foster decision making.
