This role will be responsible for coordinating the budget and finances for programs and projects within Ukraine through activities such as accounting, expenditures, bookkeeping, and payroll. A day in the life of a Field Accountant, Ukraine:

In the role of Field Accountant, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
Maintain detailed and accurate records for all financial transactions in an organized and professional manner
Record all cash, check and bank transfer transactions, maintain cash and bank ledgers, monitor cash advances and field expense reports, and reconcile cash on hand
Provide required monthly financial reports by specified deadlines to the Finance Manager
Ensure adequate cash flow for operations and safety of financial resources at base
Administer all cash advances to employees and partners, reconciling all receipts and remaining cash at months end
Work closely with and support fellow financial staff, the Finance Manager, and program staff
Ensure contracts are current on all rental properties, facilities, and vehicles
Identify areas for financial and administrative improvement and work to implement feasible improvements
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A) in finance or related field and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of GAAP
Knowledge of general business practices
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Proficiency in accounting software
Ability to prepare financial statements
12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required but can be completed after hire)

Job Location: Kyiv, Ukraine

Type: Full Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Travel Expectation: 5-10 days/annually of travel within Ukraine; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary

Accompaniment: Non-accompanied

Ability to obtain and maintain any valid work visas, specifically a valid Schengen Visa is required.
